Legal Requirements
You will need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage which must be lodged with your celebrant no less than one month and one day before the date of the wedding.
If you were born in Australia you MUST produce your birth certificate. In the case of an overseas birth if you are unable to obtain your birth certificate a current overseas passport from the country of your birth is acceptable however every effort should be made to obtain your birth certificate. These documents must be sighted and recorded by the celebrant prior to the wedding.
Should either or both of you have been previously married you will each be required to advise the number of previous marriages, the year of each marriage, the number of children born alive from each marriage, and the year of birth of each of those children and how the LAST marriage was terminated, eg. Divorce, Death or Nullity plus the date on which the last spouse died, or the date on which the last marriage termination became final.
Evidence relating to the termination of the last marriage must be produced eg. Divorce Decree Absolute, Death Certificate, or Nullity before the ceremony can proceed. This can be done just prior to the date set if needed.
Other paper work to be completed will be a Declaration by you both stating there is no legal impediment to your marriage, this needs to be done in the presence of the celebrant and again can be done just prior to the marriage.
You will also need to provide the full names of two witnesses over the age of 18 years who will witness the documentation at the end of the ceremony.
Do not let any of the details worry you as I am on hand all the time to complete the paper work to ensure all the details are correct and in their proper place and I look forward to helping you through this and every other aspect of the occasion.

Naming Ceremonies
Over the years of being a Celebrant I have been privileged to become involved with many of my couples who perhaps do not have a link with a Church or religious organisation to celebrate the naming of their children.
A simple but very meaningful ceremony comprising the naming of the child, and including the acceptance of responsibility by appointed friends or family members for the welfare of the child due to any unforseen circumstances occurring is performed. Together with this is the presentation of an attractive Naming Certificate.
The ceremony gives you the opportunity to celebrate the gift of your child to your family unit, and to include friends and family around you to enjoy with you the closeness you all have with each other.
It is the perfect occasion to meet together in a happy relaxed way to acknowledge your unity and to officially name the little one.
I invite you to contact me if you have been wondering whether such a ceremony is available to you.
Renewal of Vows
Perhaps your parents or grand parents have a special anniversary approaching. There is a wonderful way to celebrate this with a renewal of the vows they made to each other when they first tied the knot.
This can be done surrounded by family and friends and perhaps even the original bridal party either in an indoor or outdoor ceremony as casual or as formal as you like.
Should you be aware that a special anniversary or occasion is approaching why not contact me and I will liaise with you in putting together a happy meaningful memory of their day for them.
